FROM April 26 TO October 18, 2024, Pardubice, TŘÍDA MÍRU - "KULATÝ ROH"
This year, the Eastern Bohemia Museum in Pardubice, in collaboration with the city of Pardubice and Municipal District I, is launching the project Vanished Pardubice. A series of outdoor panel exhibitions will take the inhabitants of Pardubice back to bygone times, reminding them of long-lost buildings and places known today only through photographs. The project kicks off with an exhibition about the Pardubice synagogue. Built according to the design by architect František Schmoranz Jr., the synagogue was erected by the Jewish religious community in Pardubice from 1879 to 1880, west of the Veselka Hotel. The panel exhibition presents not only the oldest photographs of the synagogue but also a series of photographs by Jiří Toman, who captured its demolition in 1958.
