FROM April 26, 2024 TO April 27, 2025, OPEN AIR GALLERY PARKÁN
This year marks the centenary of the birth of the prominent Czech photographer, illustrator, and artist Jiří Toman. In March 1924, he was born into the family of the merchant Vincenc Toman and his wife Marie. He studied at the Pardubice Gymnasium and Commercial Academy. His passion for photography had held him since childhood; he won his first competition at the age of 10. After 1945, he met Josef Sudek, and their friendship lasted until Toman's death in 1972, greatly influencing his life. The outdoor exhibition in the castle park presents Jiří Toman as a photographer and reveals his previously unpublished images of Pardubice.
